Anniversary Trip to Tyler

Randy and I spent the night in Tyler at the very elegant Hilton Garden Inn.  We celebrated our five years of wedded bliss with dinner at Olive Garden and a trip to the Tyler Rose Garden.  It was nice to spend time with my Prince Charming celebrating our marriage.

Vacay Day 7...aka Vacation Day 7

Today started very early for me... early as in 4:30 a.m.  For some reason I couldn't sleep, so I worked on the blog instead.  Now aren't you glad I woke up early?

This morning we had to pack and check out of the hotel to begin our 3 hour journey across North Carolina to Charlotte for our flight back to the sauna of Dallas that we call home.

Along the way, we stopped in Pittsboro, NC as suggested by Sarah.  We had a delicious lunch at the General Store Cafe and visited two wineries.  We tried honey wine - made from honey instead of fruit.  It was very good.  We got to keep the glasses from each wine tasting.

When we got to the airport, the flight just ahead of ours to DFW was two hours delayed.  Ours left on time and arrived in Dallas ten minutes early.

So here we are... back home.  We'll not bore you with stories and tons of pictures from our vacation (unless you want to be bored).  You can read the blog entries instead.  Leave a comment and let me know how that worked out for you this trip.

Vacay Day 6

Today was a fairly relaxed day.  Randy had a little bit of work to finish up, then we went to the Joel Lane Museum House.  Joel Lane is called the "Father of Raleigh."  He was a land-rich politician in the late 1700's.  He provided 1,000 acres of his land in 1792 for the establishment of the North Carolina State Capital in Raleigh.  Joel Lane's house is said to be the best house of its time in the area.
