The Epitome of Adorableness

On Sunday Randy and I went to see Meredith and family to celebrate her birthday with her.  We had a wonderful time visiting with Meredith, Steve, Andrew, and Heather; and of course, Emma.  Every time we get to see her I'm amazed at how intelligent, sweet, and beautiful she is.

Year of the Garden 2011 Has Begun

In celebration of this past weekend's nice weather, Randy and Collin worked in the garden Sunday.  They dug, soaked, and planted potatoes, onions, and snow pea pods.

I'm not looking forward to the hot weather, but will welcome a green backyard again.

We are also interviewing apple varieties to choose dwarf or semi-dwarf trees for the backyard.  So far the leaders are Golden Delicious and Fuji.  Stay tuned for progress.

More Valentine Flowers

When I got home I took my beautiful flowers outside and took more pictures.  But just a few, 97 to be exact.

Love, love, love this yellowish orange Gerbera daisy

Peach roses are my favorite

To My Valentine...

I love you, Randy.  I'm glad you're my Valentine.

From My Valentine

With Randy's job being as it is, travel comes with it.  Often times his travel schedule doesn't mesh with holidays such as birthdays, Valentine's Day, etc.

Today is Valentine's Day.  Randy left for Chicago this morning at 5am.  About noon today I got a "delivery" at school.  It's the most beautiful mixture of peach roses, yellow and red Gerbera daisies, peach lilies, and yellow daisies.  They match my office and make it smell wonderful!

These are phone pictures.  I'll post better ones when I get my camera.

It's now official... I have THE best husband ever!!

Wed Feb 9: Snow Day #5

It's 6 a.m.  Temperatures are dropping to a high of 26 today.  Temp dropped from 37 to 29 in 45 minutes and still going down.  Rain has already started.  Snow and ice are on their way.  Thus, snow day #5 in February in Texas.  I'm going back to bed now.  Pictures later, much later.

PS...Previous days' pictures of the snow far surpassed any from today, thus no new pictures.  Enjoy the ones already posted.

Sunset Snow

One of the most beautiful faces of nature I've been blessed to observe is snow in the sunset.  A picture speaks a thousand words.  Or eight pictures speak eight thousand words.

Sparkle of the sun on grains of snow.

See the giant icicle in the left of the picture at the corner of the house?

:) :) :)

Evergreen bushes in the snow with red berries.

Beautiful icicles on the house against the blue sky.

Winter Snow Day #4

We've been out of school since Tuesday due to icy road conditions and energy rollbacks.  Last night it snowed about 5" here at our house, so no school for four days in a row.  The snow is definitely prettier than the ice.  Collin loves the snow.

The snow comes up to Collin's belly.

Collin's trails across the backyard.

Wouldn't want to sit in the swing today.

Icicles hanging from the eaves of the house.

The neighbors' evergreens... very pretty in the snow.

Small tracks in the snow... not sure what from.

Crepe Myrtle in the snow.

Nice view down the street.

The neighbors' pink Mary Kay Cadillac.

Tex (aka The Ugly Tree) looks good in the snow.

Nature's beauty undisturbed.

Love snowy-nosed puppies.

The fence looks like piano keys in the snow.
