Yes, it's true. I've worked for MISD for 25 years! May 13th the district had a very nice recognition ceremony for employees with 15 or more years of service. Five other people from my school also received awards.
Twenty-five years ago when I began my teaching career, my concerns were learning how to be a good teacher and caring for my children. The years have taught me much, imparted wisdom, and hopefully, aged me gracefully. Now the kids are grown - only one teenager left and he starts driving this summer. My job is good, my husband is wonderful, life is grand, and it's time to start thinking about the next phase of my life... retirement! Haha!
