Happy Anniversary to Us!

Today Randy and I celebrated 6 years of our marriage.  It has been a fast 6 years.  We dated for 7 before that.  It's hard to believe we've been together for 13 years.  Meeting Randy, falling in love, and getting married are some of the very best things that have happened to me.

We spent a quiet, calm day together.  I made lunch from the garden... succotash and Swiss chard.  We watched our wedding video, looked at our honeymoon pictures, and shared many wonderful memories.

Crepe Myrtle

We have four crepe myrtles in front of our house.  They're blooming beautifully right now.

Private Browning

June 11th, Eli left for basic training in Fort Sill, OK.  I miss her very much, but I'm proud of her choices and determination to follow them through.

School's Out For Summer!

Today was the last day for teachers to work for the 2011-2012 school year.  As I close out the year, here's a peek at my office.  Yes, it was worth the 10 hours to get it looking this way.  Now I'm ready for a relaxing summer, knowing my office is ready for next year.

Today's dinner

Tonight Randy and I had dinner completely from the garden.  We had Swiss Chard, mashed potatoes, and green beans that Randy grew.  I also made a home-grown blackberry and peach cobbler.  Best meal ever!

Life is like Coffee Movie:

Do you know people that just seem to be happier in general? Do you say to yourself, "I want to be more like them"? Often, the happiest people in the world don't have the best of everything...they just make the best of everything!

Emma Visit

Randy and I got to keep Emma on Saturday before Mother's Day.  As we always do, the day was a super busy one.  We started off baking homemade pizza.  Emma loves to cook.  It was delicious, too.

Emma and I made a Mother's Day Present for Meredith.  It involved pictures, purple paint, and emma's hands.  We had a great time.

The poem on around her handprint says, "Here's a little handprint, just so you can recall, exactly how my fingers looked when I was very small."

When Meredith and Steve arrived to pick Emma up she was so excited she grabbed the present and opened it before Meredith had a chance to realize what was happening!  :)

Daniel came by to visit and play with Emma.

And of course, we watched a lot of Mickey Mouse, Blues Clues, and watched Emma dance and sing.
