During Spring Break last week, Randy planted our newest tree in the garden family. Marie Noel is a semi-dwarf Granny Smith apple tree and now lives in the middle of the back yard. In just three days, she already has blossoms and leaves. We're anxiously watching her changes daily.

She's beautiful, but why did you name her Marie Noel?
ReplyDeleteThat is an excellent question. The original plan was to get two apple trees since they need each other to pollinate and make apples. We couldn't find the ones we wanted and were running out of yard, so decided to go with just the one tree. Two trees were going to be Marie and Noel, in memory of Randy's godparents. Thus our lone apple tree became Marie Noel. Sounds kind of Christmasy, too.
