Bluebonnets
After our dinner date, Randy and I took Collin to a field of bluebonnets near the house. He sure is getting a lot of gray.... Collin, that is.
Date Night
My sweet husband took me out to dinner tonight. We went to Cheddar's for some yummy vegetables and CHOCOLATE mini cake for dessert.
More Garden
I go to work each day not knowing what new things will be in the garden when I return home. Sometimes it's plants that have grown and sometimes it's new additions to the garden. This time I came home to evidence of Randy having made a trip to the nursery for more plants. Not only that, the garden has now expanded outside the backyard.
Randy dug 3 holes and planted two red tip photinia and one pink crepe myrtle in the area to the right of the driveway. The kids across the alley watched and one of them commented to Randy, "If you plant those bushes we can't play there." Remember, this is our yard. Randy respectfully, answered them, "I'm sorry about that, but this isn't a playground." So proud of him.
My research says both trees are fast-growing. The photinia can grow 3-4 feet in one season. Both are beautiful plants.

Poteet High School Jazz Band
Daniel is in the Jazz Band at school this year. They had a concert last night. Randy and I both agreed this was the best concert we've been to out of all the high school concerts we've attended.
Daniel has a solo in Vertigo and a duet in Steppin' Up. I hope you enjoy the music as much as we did. No, I'm not being biased. The concert really was awesome!
Poteet's Jazz Band is a student-organized group of the best of the best musicians. This year's band was organized by Senior Drew Frauman. He is the sax player with the solo in Misty. That young man is going to go far with his musical career.

Just because.....
Two things dear to our family are marching bands and military. This is an awesome tribute to the armed forces by the West Virginia University marching band. Enjoy!

Garden Planting at Meredith's
Randy and I got to go to Meredith and Steve's house to help get their garden started. Well, actually, HE went to help get the garden planting started. I went to play with Emma.
Randy and Meredith worked for three hours and got a very nice garden in the ground.

We stopped at Lowe's on the way there for a couple of last minute things and found Emma a Disney Princess gardening tool set. She got a watering can, kneeling pad (every princess should have a pad to kneel on while gardening), garden gloves, and a shovel. She watered everything in the yard she could find to water. This included her Gerbera daisies, the rose bushes, crepe myrtles, dandelions, and herself. :)

After the planting was done, Emma put on a show for us. She danced what she has learned in dance class and sang for us with her karaoke machine.
| Hershey was hoping Emma would drop some fish sticks. |
