Hello, January!

Birthday Myspace Icons

January is a very busy celebration month at our house.  Deborah and Daniel kick it off with their anniversary on the 5th.  They have been married 3 years now!

Next up is Randy's birthday on the 11th.  This year his birthday is 1-11-11.

The very next day is Eli's birthday on the 12th.  She was my first birthday baby.

The 15th is Daniel James' birthday.  He will turn 16 and get his driver's license!

My birthday is on Sunday this year, the 16th.  No school on my birthday!  Woo hoo!

Daniel Scott's mother, Jeannie, picks up the next birthday spot on the 18th.  We're thinking mass birthday party this year.  :)

Last, but certainly not least, my sister Pam's birthday is the 20th.  She and I are two years minus four days apart.

Yes, you counted correctly.  That's SIX birthdays in TEN days!!!

We'll put up the birthday banner and just leave it up all month.  Lots of fun.

Feliz navidad

Date Night

My wonderful, sweet husband took me out for Date Night tonight.  We went to see Disney's new movie, Tangled.  It was a cute Disney rendition of Rapunzel.  We have a new Disney Princess.  :)  Mandy Moore is the voice of Rapunzel.  Zachary Levi lends his charm to the handsome Flynn Rider, who of course, wins the heart of Rapunzel.

After the movie we went to dinner at Jalapeno Tree Mexican restaurant.  I had spinach enchiladas with sour cream sauce and a glass of Sangria.  Next time I know to get cheese sauce on the side.  The sour cream was too much.  Randy had a bunch of stuff with meat in it and a blue raspberry margarita.  :)  Seriously, he had a tamale, enchiladas, and a puff taco.  One of his sauces was tequila cream sauce.  He said it was good.

Just for fun, I decided I wanted a sopaipilla.  I was expecting at most a 3" square sopaipilla sprinkled with powdered sugar and honey on the side.  Instead, this is what we were served.  Are you ready for this?

This sopaipilla was the size of a dinner plate and shaped like a jalapeno!!

But, it was delicious!  Thanks, Sweetheart, for a wonderful date night.

Merry Christmas Day!

Christmas Eve night we had Sarah, Deborah, Daniel, and Daniel spend the night.  It's night like this that we got this house for, to fill it up with family, kids, and laughter.

Christmas morning my dad, brother Bennett, Eli, and boyfriend Josh came over.  Finally the whole family together.  I never knew I wanted a big family until I had it. As the kids grow up (too quickly) the times we're all together are growing fewer and more precious.

Our traditional family Christmas begins with breakfast of scrambled eggs by Daniel Scott, hash browns, fruit, biscuits, and bacon followed by stockings and presents before the kids go their merry ways.  Christmas morning is my favorite day of the whole year.

For the moment, I leave you with this little glimpse into our wonderful family and the promise of more to come.

Merry Christmas Eve!

So my family assures me they do indeed read my blog.  At our family Christmas today some of them did comment I haven't blogged much.  OK, so here goes.  If you're reading this, comment, please.

Christmas Eve was awesome!  This year was Randy and my turn to host the Walker clan.  We had a wonderful time with Randy's parents, his brother and sister-in-law, his kids, and our adorable granddaughter, Emma.  We love being surrounded by family.

Emma spent all afternoon playing with packets of M&Ms, moving them from basket to plate to gift bag and back again.  She never tried to open them.  Organization is her thing.

Collin didn't get quite as much attention as he's accustomed to.
