Halloween 2011

This year Randy and I got to trick-or-treat with Emma at downtown Wylie's "Boo on Ballard." Local merchants passed out candy and advertisements. Emma saw Elmo, a Chick-fil-A cow, dogs wearing costumes, Shrek, ate ice cream, and much more. We had fun being Grandma and Grandy for the evening. We are thankful for every minute we get to spend with that little sweetheart. Thank you, Steve and Meredith, for letting us invite ourselves over to trick-or-treat with our sweet little Emma.

Is that precious or what?!

Poteet Pirate Band Area Competition

The Poteet Pirate Band marched in the Area Competition on October 29th.  They placed and will move on to state in a week and a half.  We're so proud of Daniel and all of the band.

Only in Texas

2011.... The year of 5 snow/ice days in MISD and 70 days of over 100 degree temperatures.

Morning Glories EVERYWHERE!

A couple of years ago my brother, Jim, sent us 9 Morning Glory seeds from Kansas.  Randy planted them in the flower section of the garden.  The next year Jim sent us pink Morning Glory seeds.  Randy planted them, too.  Thanks to winds and pollination we now have Morning Glories EVERYWHERE in our yard.  There are even Morning Glories blooming in the front yard from where the old fence was placed for pickup.

Beautiful flowers that bloom in the morning
Morning Glories growing through the flats in the old fence to outside of the yard
Morning Glories climbed the fence in the backyard and poured over to the driveway side.
Morning Glories on a lattice next to the living room windows

Really thick pink Morning Glories intertwined with blue ones

Babysitting Emma

Steve and Meredith wanted some grown up time at Six Flags, so of course I told them (enthusiastically) to bring Emma over.  When they arrived about 6pm, I had fresh, warm brownies ready, a fitting treat for chocolate lovers who had a hard week.

After Meredith and Steve took off for Six Flags Fright Fest, Emma and I visited the garden and picked okra, bell pepper, and one green bean (because that's all she wanted, one green bean :).  Collin loved running around the yard with Emma.

Emma really liked Grandy's new scarecrow in the garden.  She took her picture with him and named him "Tom."  :)

Then we settled in with On Demand Blues Clues and Mickey Mouse... and Mickey Mouse and Blues Clues... you get the idea.

Throughout the evening Emma snacked on apple juice, yogurt, apple juice, goldfish, apple juice, Cars gummies, cheese sticks, apple juice, chocolate ice cream, and apple juice.  I think she's going to float away in apple juice or turn into an apple.

Grandy was in California for work and missed all the fun.  So we took lots of videos and pictures for him.  We love you and miss you, Grandy.
