Bird Church at Sunset

An intersection near our house has long been a gathering for hundreds of birds at the end of the day. When the kids were little and we drove by there, we said they were having "bird church."

Flash Mob!!!

Monday, September 26th, was Staff Development day for Mesquite teachers.  I was at an ESL meeting all day, but most of our faculty was in a Science seminar that was a live feed to all elementary schools in Mesquite.  At the end of the session, our teachers participated in a FLASH MOB!!!  No, I'm not in the video.  I was at another meeting, but it's great fun to watch my co-workers!

Pasta Dinner

Sarah and her friend, Jake, cooked dinner for us a while back.  They made cheese tortellini with homemade pesto, crostini topped with red bell pepper, spinach, and olives, and a fruity sangria.  You can cook for us any time, Sarah!  Thank you for a delicious dinner!

Blueberry Cream Cheese Muffins

Sarah hit a home run with these blueberry cream cheese muffins.  Yummy!

Memories

Today has been a day of emotions.  I saw three out of my four kids.  That always makes me feel warm and fuzzy.  :)

I got to see Deborah and Daniel's new apartment.  It's nice.  Deborah is an awesome decorator and housekeeper.  I wish I had inherited those traits from her.

After leaving Deborah's apartment I followed her to The Colony to see Chad and Sara's new baby.  Jael is 10 days old.  She weighed 6 lb 12 oz at birth.  She's the tiniest little angel.  It reminds me of my first born.  Eli weighed 6 lb 9 oz when she was born.  I can remember clearly the day she was born... a tiny little person and the most precious thing I'd ever laid eyes on.

Driving to The Colony we passed what used to be Country 2000.  It was the club where Randy and I met and first started dancing over 12 years ago.  The building is now a Tejano club connected to the club next door, making it twice as big.

After visiting with Chad, Sara, Deborah, and Jael, I left for home.  Driving home down 635, I passed the area where Randy lived when we first met.  The bridge for his exit is being demolished this weekend.

Things change.

All of that and I didn't get lost, without a GPS, iPhone, or a map.

Happy Birthday!

Labor Day we celebrated Randy's mom's birthday.  Dian brought crab cakes and salad.  I made okra casserole and brought a cake.  We had a great time visiting and sharing a special day with a very special lady.

Happy Birthday to the best Mother-in-law ever!!
