My Favorite in the Garden

I can't wait for the Morning Glories to start climbing the fence.  Then it will be perfect.

Still Standing

After the last couple of storms we've had checking the fence is a daily event.  Before today's storm Collin and I went out to have a look.  It was still standing.  It has to stay up until next week when the rest of the fence gets replaced.  It's going to look really nice.

Happy Birthday Daniel Weyandt!

Birthday-Graphics
Birthday Graphics

Daniel Weyandt's birthday was April 8th.  Deborah successfully pulled off a surprise party for him at Kaze with help from Sara Barrett.  Besides great food at Kaze, cherry cheesecake and coconut macaroons, the staff at Kaze was very nice and welcoming.  They sang to Daniel and let him hit the gong.  :)

Daniel was surprised and a great time was had by all.

From Deborah to Ray, Carolina, Eli, Randy, Julia, Chad, Sara, Kristen, Jeannie, and Rob...

"Thank you for coming on Friday night! He even said that having you all there made it perfect.  I think it made his year. Thank you for coming and giving and making it happen! We love all of you!"

Daniel got a new guitar for his birthday.  I hear it sounds pretty good.

It is the perfect time for something fresh, something that symbolizes life, joy, family, and love.

Storm Damage

Last night we had quite a storm come through Mesquite about 2:00 am.  We had high winds, rain, hail, and tornado sirens.  When Randy and I got up and looked outside, this is what we found.

It will be a few days before we know for sure of any damage to the garden, but overall, it looks really good... just a few snapped rose branches, squished flowers, and a couple of broken potato plants.

Randy went out and raised the fence as much as he could.  He propped up the fence with boards.

The petunias and Gerbera daisies got kind of squished.

Wow! That sure looks different.
