Good-Bye February

February is traditionally a difficult month in my life. This one was no different.

* 6th anniversary of my mother's passing
* 1st anniversary of my oldest brother's passing
* passing of my very good friend, Lynette
* Collin spent 5 days in the hospital
* Randy is working out of town a lot
* Work is crazy busy.
* I was sick and missed 3 days of work.
* It snowed the most incredible snow Texas has ever had - while I was sick and couldn't go out

Good-bye, February. I won't miss you.

Skype

I LOVE Skype. Love, love, love it! I just got to video chat with Sarah for over an hour. She was typical Sarah... multi-tasking... or easily distracted. :)

She was getting ready to go for coffee with friends. We visited while she was putting on her makeup using the computer monitor as a mirror. She carried the computer through her room so I could see it. I even got to meet her host mom! Very sweet lady named Indu who enthusiastically invited me to come to India and hang out with her and Sarah. :) So sweet. She said, "I will wait for you."

Yesterday evening Randy and I went to Cheryl and Lea's for dinner and visiting. I was able to put the pictures and videos on their computer from Lynette's memorial service. I also set up Skype for them. Cheryl (Sarah's Godmother) got to talk to Sarah for 40 minutes last night after we left.

Skype is truly a wonderful thing! :)

FLAKY Friday

The weather in Texas is FICKLE. Friday of last week brought a FREAK snow storm. Today, just a mere seven days later, we had a FORLORN high temperature of 58. To add to this FLIGHTY, FLUCTUATING FOOLISHNESS... the weatherman is predicting snow for next week!!

The Big Texas Snow of 2010

Yes, you read correctly... Big Texas Snow! February 10-12, 2010 is in the record books. Texas relished under 12 inches of the powdery white stuff. Not only is the snow beautiful, it is peaceful. Snow floats gently from the clouds, dancing on particles of air on its way to the ground, blanketing it ever so gently with cold arms that warm the heart and make us smile.

Snow is quiet, very, very quiet....

Things aren't always as we want them to be

The video in the following post is quite amusing, if I may say so myself. Unfortunately, Blogger is having issues with video posts. Hopefully, it will be repaired soon and you can enjoy the humor of Randy and me figure skating. :)

Things aren't always as we want them to be... yesterday a very, very dear lifelong friend passed on to a pain-free, cancer-free life. She is reunited with her mother and Granny on Heaven's streets of gold.

Things aren't always as we want them to be... out of necessity, I am home in bed sick, very sick. The doctor's diagnosis is bronchitis, sinus infection, swollen throat (but not strep yet), and out of control asthma. I can definitely say this is not one of my more pleasant weeks thus far in my life.

Here's to hoping things get better soon...

Ice Skating

In our free time, Randy and I have recently taken up figure skating. What do you think?
